EPA Region 1: Drinking Water Program Update for New England

Attend this webinar to get updates from the staff at EPA Region 1 regarding the drinking water program.  A brief overview of various U.S.EPA drinking water regulations, potential regulatory revisions and guidance will be presented. The topics will range from UCMR5 results, Proposed Lead and Copper Rule Improvements, Proposed CCR Revision, PFAS update, MDBL Six-year review and Cybersecurity.

 Andrea Traviglia and Michelle Jenks with EPA Region 1 will be the speakers.

Andrea Traviglia

Andrea Traviglia is an environmental engineer in the Drinking Water Quality and Protection Unit at EPA Region 1; she’s been with EPA for 12 years. She works with the state Massachusetts in Region 1, and is the coordinator for a number of drinking water rules and programs. Prior to joining EPA, she worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and at Malcolm Pirnie (now Arcadis) as a Project Manager on the Drinking Water Planning and Process Team.   Andrea is a registered Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and a Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Michelle Jenks

Michelle Jenks is an Environmental Engineer in the Drinking Water Quality and Protection Section at EPA Region 1; she’s been with EPA since November 2022. She is the coordinator for several drinking water rules and programs, including Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR), PFAS, and the BIL Emerging Contaminants (EC) in Small or Disadvantaged Communities (SDC) grants. Prior to joining EPA, she worked for the State of Vermont in the Drinking Water and Groundwater Protection Division and at Nobis Engineering as an Environmental Engineer. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
